Knee Socks

Until 2007, the knee sock belonged only to the world of the Catholic schoolkid. Then Prada used them in her fall collection and the world of women’s legs have never looked back (We’re not trying to ignore the guys here, it’s just that knee socks don’t work for any man over the age of 12, end of story).
Knee socks can work on any legs, no matter what size or shape when they are handled well. They are also a great way to transition your wardrobe between seasons – and they hide the pasty, scaly winter skin with a fabulous and eye-catching fashion statement.
If your legs are a little larger than you would like them to be, choose your knee socks in darker colors, with little or no pattern. This will slim and streamline the look of your legs. When you wear knee socks, remember that they are a statement all by themselves. There is little need for extra accessories when wearing these (unless you are really in the mood to mix it up, in which case, go crazy!).
Knee socks can be worn in the office, when teamed with longer dresses and Mary Jane shoes. The result is usually fashionable but serious – quite an effect for an accessory that costs less than ten dollars.
No matter where or how you wear knee socks, it is important never to wear them with flat shoes (unless they are the retro platform sole). Flat shoes and knee socks will make you look much shorter, and the effect is often too masculine for even the daintiest girl to carry off.
Lastly, make sure you take advantage of the great fabrics that knee socks come in. As well as the usual stretchy cotton type, you will find them in velvet (luxe!), satin and merino wool. They feel great against the skin, and really brighten your day
